HMB, VCR, MBV

A VERY TRAGIC THING HAPPENED THIS MORNING:
THE VCR PLAYER ON MY TRUSTY TV/VCR IN ONE TOSHIBA DIED.

this blog post is dedicated to the good times we've had together over the past 10+ years
watching You've Got Mail, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Center Stage and Say Anything
over, and over, and over.
and over.
again.

12/95 - 9/08

On a lighter note-- I had an excellent first time excursion to Half Moon Bay yesterday.

Chelsey, Chesley, Diego, Lola, and I piled into the Nissan and headed for the coast with an appetite for adventure.

(FANTASTIC THE CAT).

(This park blows).

THINGS DISCOVERED (in chronological order):

- Self serve chip and salsa bar + Horchata = fabulousness.
- The cats of HMB (most importantly FANTASTIC THE CAT).
- The Lola project.
- Everything closes once we find it.
- HMB coffee shop is terrifying.
- That park on Main St. blows.
- Cops are scary too.
- Driving 92/280 is magical when the fog rolls in.
- Halloween Soxx.
... and more.

And more exciting news I finally finished my curtains:

Usually Mondays are a nightmare for me, this week it's different:

- MY BLOODY VALENTINE TUESDAY
- Vertigo Saturday (free).
- Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Fest (ELVIS COSTELLO) Sunday! (free).

................... Like Searching for Meaning in a Pauly Shore Movie

I can't believe I forgot how classic Clueless is (forgot as in its been maybe a year since James and I watched it every other day for a month straight). What other movie so accurately depicts growing up as a young girl in the 90s? Cher is the OG Diva-- so on top of it and with such great taste in men. Why is there no Fred Segal in San Francisco?

Alicia Silverstone, also the shit, remember The Crush? That scene... with the tampon and the used condom. So creepy... so good.

She's also a Vegetarian.

Too bad this happened to her.

Anyways- I can't wait for 90s Vintage.

"Valencia Style"

After a 3 hour post-yoga studio nap I arose for a walk down Valencia. This resulted in: (1) bok choy (1) head of broccoli, chocolate milk (three liquor stores before I could find something other than nesquik), and Tales of the City. I also spent my money for BART this week on a dress I dont need that some awesome old lady on the corner of 20th/Valencia convinced me I had to buy. It was what she called "Valencia Style." For some reason I was sold on a description that would typically discourage me.

Last night was fun- minus...

A few thumbs down encounters.

(SO) Yoga Retarded.

Why is Sixpence None the Richer not on my ipod?
Pay attention to the vintage Adam Goldberg:

Finally! It's foggy in SF... just like nature intended.

Tidbits

... just had quite the evening at the San Francisco Electronic Music Festival including after-show tacos with Mr. Erique on yet another, warm, summery San Fran night.

YESTERDAY in my new *upstairs* bedroom I made an important discovery: that if you stand tippy toed on the windowsill and peek between the buildings you can see the downtown skyline.

Room-with-a-view.
